FAQs

The site is available for complete hire – with our day event space, the Grain Loft, alongside our two accommodation properties, the Mill House and the Hay Barn, and our communal dining area and treatment space in the Piggeries; all of which comes with the 10 acres of surrounding land. The event space in the Grain Loft can be hired separately for day workshops.

Our accommodation features 10 double en-suite bedrooms, all with king size beds – we can accommodate 10 people based on single occupancy rooms, or 20 people based on shared beds. Our large event space can accommodate 25+ guests for workshops.

We partner with talented local chefs who can provide catering for retreats and events with themes tailored to your offering. If you have your own chef, they will have full use of our on-site kitchens and dining areas. Each property comes with a fully equipped kitchen, with tea, coffee and water, for guests to use. If you require additional culinary offerings to support your retreat programme, we will happily connect you with our partners.

The Grain Loft is our event space, where retreats and workshops are hosted. A fully flexible space with high ceilings, the Grain Loft can accommodate 25+ guests and has the scope and universal facilities to host any type of experience. Other facilities on site include a treatment room, set up with towels and a massage table, a fire pit, a meditation circle, a Welsh-made wood-fired sauna situated next to a natural river plunge pool and outdoor shower with breathtaking views.

We are a steeply sloping site so access to the lower part of the site, where the accommodation is located, is via car. The Mill House has an accessible bedroom on the ground floor, with accessible gardens at the rear.

We are in a quiet rural area so would ask all retreat guests to consider our neighbours. Alcohol provision is for the retreat host to manage. Please be considerate from dusk to dawn to suit all our animal friends on the farm and the site.

We have a minimum stay of two nights for a residential retreat across the whole site. Day only retreat hire for the Grain Loft is available. For a tailored estimate, please contact us to discuss pricing for your event. Please note we only take bookings from the retreat provider and won’t sell tickets directly for the retreat itself.

Yes, we have full WiFi access across all properties, however would encourage taking time to encourage the beautiful natural setting if you can!

Audio Visual equipment is fully set up in the Grain Loft with an integrated media screen available for presentation purposes and surround sound via Sonos. Please note the media screen is concealed, so for more wellbeing orientated activities, you will not have a large screen featured permanently on the wall! We can help with technical set up for retreat bookings.

We take our earth footprint seriously and we care deeply about the land, as our family has lived and farmed our location since 1945. The 10 acres of fields that surround the retreat venue are organic and free of any pesticides. We have renewable energy on-site, including solar panels; our utility suppliers provide green energy, and our tariffs guarantee renewable energy only. We have more than 10,000 litres of rainwater harvesting on-site for all external irrigation. We’ve sourced our materials throughout the build of the retreat location from local suppliers, and we encourage collaboration with local suppliers for the delivery of any retreats and events that are hosted at the venue as well as shopping locally for food ingredients wherever possible.

We partner with local practitioners who offer therapeutic treatments including massage therapy, acupuncture, reflexology, meditation, chocolate tasting mindfulness (yes really!) and reiki. We also offer outdoor activities including; wild swimming, paddleboarding, fishing, off road biking and hiking. We partner with talented local chefs who provide catering for retreats and events. If you require additional classes such as print making or a local offering to support your retreat programme, we will happily connect you with our partners.

The retreat location is set in 10 acres of private land and adjacent to our 150-acre working farm. From the top of the valley, where the cattle graze gracefully, to the woodland areas where the badgers burrow and the buzzards and red kites fly high – the surrounding land allows you to explore, reconnect and rewild.

Our land includes a three-acre conservation area of rewilded woodland that hasn’t been touched for over 50 years. Home to badgers, foxes, otters, native flora and fauna, it is a peaceful area of nature with the river Trannon running by its side, and it’s open for guided woodland walks as well as providing the most serene meditation circle.

Local beauty spots, just around the corner from your bespoke retreat location, include Hafren Forest and the Source of the Severn; the Source of the River Wye and the slopes of Plynlimon – the highest peak in Mid Wales; the Cambrian Mountains, Devil’s Bridge Waterfalls, the Llyn Clywedog Reservoir and Dam, and Aberdyfi. Also known as Aberdovey, Aberdyfi is one of Southern Snowdonia’s most attractive coastal villages and it’s where the mountains meet the sea at the mouth of the River Dyfi.
